Uni

Design: Woodnotes Design Team, 2018

The Uni rug is a hand-knotted, solid-color design made from 90% New Zealand wool and 10% cotton. The name "Uni" stands for "unicolor" and reflects the understated elegance of its monochromatic look. The color palette is soft and earthy: most shades come from natural sheep's wool (except black) and are not chemically dyed. This reduces the use of dyes, water, and energy—a sustainable approach that makes the rug particularly eco-friendly.

The natural nuances of the wool make each Uni rug unique. For example, the "Ivory White" shade contains small gray and brown wool fibers that weave subtle color accents into the surface.

The rug has a low, dense pile and is decorated in the corners with braided wool tassels reminiscent of traditional craftsmanship. These tassels can be removed upon request.
