Kula Drawer Chest
Zanat
Kula, designed by Michele De Lucchi, is a collection of wooden chests of drawers that incorporates the principle of building blocks through wood carving. Using simple, hand-carved grooves, De Lucchi creates striking patterns that envelop the chests of drawers, giving them a unique, three-dimensional form.
The interplay of the grooved blocks creates a beautiful pattern, and the hand-crafted grooves give the chests of drawers the warm, tactile feel of handcrafted furniture.
The name Kula means "tower" or "home" in Bosnian and reflects the idea of creating an architectural world with the various sizes and shapes of the Kula collection. The tall Kula consists of two chests of drawers and a small cabinet, which can be stacked on top of each other but can also be used separately.
