Simon Schmitz wanted to create the most fluid movement possible – and came up with the sphere. As a central element, the sphere enables absolute freedom: no up or down, no left or right. Everything is organized around it: geometry, balance, friction. The result is an object that rotates seemingly effortlessly around its center – like planets in orbit. With AARO, inspired by Aaron's staff, the "magician" Simon Schmitz makes his lamp appear to float.
